Chisinau, 18 October /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Head of the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA) Cristina Tarna applied for resignation from office.
Tarna has published the resignation application on a social network and stated the reasons for her departure from CNA. “It is true I filed my resignation from the position of deputy head of CNA. CNA Director Viorel Chetraru asked me to have a discussion on the matter first. Following the discussion, he understood my reasons and sent my request to parliament”, Tarna said.
One of the reasons indicated in the request is the intention of the authorities to transfer the Agency for Recovery of Criminal Goods to the Finance Ministry.
The official also noted in the application that she is worried about a string of anti-corruption reforms. “I believe that the anti-corruption reforms substantially reduce the policies promoted with the expertise of CNA and my involvement in recent years, being about more laws that are just starting to be implemented. In this situation, in which the visions I share are not compatible with the announced views, I do not see the point of remaining in this position”, Tarna said.
Cristina Tarna became deputy head of CNA in 2013.
