New state distinction to be established in Moldova

Chisinau, 19 October /MOLDPRES/ - The law on the amendment and completion of the Law on the state distinctions of Moldova will be published in the 20 October issue of the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial).

Under the document, a new state distinction will be established in Moldova – Cross of International Missions. It will be awarded to people who participated in operations on keeping peace and international security.

The state distinction will be made of tombac and will represent a silver cross filled with a round medallion with a diameter of 14 mm, with a golden frame in relief and the picture of Moldova’s gilded coat of arms in the middle in a blue field. The reverse side of the distinction will be even. The height of the distinction will be of 90 mm.

The distinction is to be awarded to about 11,000 Moldovan citizens and the cost for its manufacturing is of more than two million lei.

The present law will enter into force on 1 January 2018.
