Moldovan deputy foreign affairs minister meets Ukraine's special representative for Transnistrian conflict settlement

Chisinau, 19 October /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Lilian Darii today had a meeting with Ukraine’s Special Representative for Transnistrian Conflict Settlement Viktor Krizhanivski, on a working visit to Moldova, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s media interaction service has reported.

The officials exchanged opinions on the latest developments in the Transnistrian conflict settlement process, ways to advance within this file, opportunity of a new round of five-plus-two talks.

In the context, Deputy Prime Minister Lilian Darii highlighted the Moldovan authorities’ openness for identifying a viable solution, with the observance of Moldova’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, by providing a special status to the Transnistrian region. At the same time, the Moldovan official reiterated Moldova’s stance on the need to withdraw the Russian troops and ammunitions deployed on the left bank of Dniester.
