Chisinau, 20 October /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament today took note of the resignation of the deputy director of the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA), Cristina Tarna.
Earlier this week, Cristina Tarna informed that he had submitted an application on resignation from the office of CNA deputy director.
According to Tarna, one of the reasons put down in the application was the authorities’ intention to transfer the Agency for Crime Assets Recovery (ARBI) to the Finance Ministry. “The destabilization of the newly-created, autonomous and independent ARBI within CNA will inevitably cancel its activity. With all respect for the Finance Ministry, I do not believe in the independence and efficiency of ARBI within the Tax Body,” Tarna said.
The official noted, in the application, that a string of reforms underway in the anticorruption centre had also aroused her concern.
“I believe that the reforms announced and started in the anticorruption sector substantially reduce from the policies promoted with CNA’s expertise and my involvement in the last years; it is about more laws which just begin to be enforced. In the emerged situation, in which the visions I share are not compatible with the visions announced, I see no sense of further holding this office,” Tarna added.
Cristina Tarna became deputy director of CNA in 2013.
