Age limit, disability pensions set in 2009 – 2011 to be recalculated in Moldova as of 1 November 2017

Chisinau, 20 October /MOLDPRES/ – The Parliament adopted the draft amending the Law on the state social insurance budget (BASS) for 2017 in two readings today.
As a result of the changes, since 01 November 2009, the age limit and disability pensions set in 2009 – 2011 will be valued.
According to the adopted document, approximately 65,000 persons will benefit from the pension increase and for this stage estimated over MDL 33 million.
Also today, it was decided to increase the financial resources allocated for temporary work and other social insurance benefits. According to the authors, the need arises after the legislative changes that allowed the wives being on maintain of well – off husbands to benefit from the maternity allowance.
The corrections to reduce the amount allocated were made to family and child protection programmes. These were conditioned by the decrease in the number of beneficiaries, compared to the forecast, for the paternity allowance. At the same time, the number of unemployed beneficiaries and some disability benefits also decreased.
The expenditures of the state social insurance budget in the first half of 2017 constituted over MDL 8.7 million, compared to the same period of 2016, the amount of expenditures being by 17.2 per cent higher.
At the same meeting, MPs also voted for amendments to the mandatory health insurance fund law for 2017.
