Moldovan parliament approves programme on control over enforcement of laws

Chisinau, 1 November /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament has approved a programme on control over the enforcement of laws by the standing commissions for the 2017 autumn session. The schedule of parliamentary hearings was worked out at a proposal by the standing commissions and approved at a meeting of the Standing Bureau today, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.  

The parliamentary commissions will organize over 60 parliamentary hearings in the end of the session and are to assess the sectors of major interest and ensure the parliamentary control over the enforcement of the packages of laws and reforms approved by the parliament. Following the hearings and controls carried out over the observance of the legislation, the commissions will present recommendations to the government and other public authorities, respectively, will submit to parliament reports on laws’ enforcement. At the same time, a string of hearings will be organized on the platform of the parliamentary council for European integration.  

The hearings will take place in the context of the priority of parliamentary control, announced by Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu for this parliamentary session.  

Andrian Candu asked the commissions’ heads to fulfill on term the schedule of parliamentary hearings and ensure the decision-making transparency.  

Also at the today’s meeting, the Standing Bureau approved the agenda of the plenary meetings for 2-3 November 2017. The parliament on 2 November is to consider the budgetary, tax and customs policy for 2018.
