Premier tells ambassadors accredited in Moldova government keeps determination to carry out, boost reforms

Chisinau, 3 November /MOLDPRES/ – The ambassadors of the EU member states, the USA and Turkey accredited to Moldova were invited to the government today as to exchange views with Prime Minister, Pavel Filip. The head of the Executive told diplomats about the latest developments in the government's activity, especially within reforms implementation, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The PM pronounced for an open dialogue and assured representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Chisinau that the reform agenda would continue to be implemented at a higher rate. "We maintain our determination to make these reforms and intensify them. The year of 2018 is an electoral year, and with certainty it will not be easy, but we can not allow ourselves wasting time. We want as little political interference as possible in the Government's activity," said Pavel Filip.
As well, they discussed the central public administration reform, including its goal to professionalise government at staff level. "Every initiative, all policies, elaboration and implementation must come from its inside. For that purpose we must have institutions with high capacities," said the Premier.
The Head of the Executive also talked about the significant improvement of the entrepreneurial activity conditions and elimination of abuses on businessmen has remained a direction in which intensive work would continue. In this respect, there were mentioned a range of entities with control functions, number of permissive acts, reduction of the number of reports submitted by economic agents, creation of the Public Service Agency (APS), but also amendments to labour code.
As an essential area, there were highlighted education and necessity of de – bureaucratization of teachers' work and revision of school curriculum.
Additionally, the Prime Minister talked about changing the approach to managing foreign aid. That competence was transferred from the State Chancellery to the Minister of Finance for a more efficient setting of funding priorities.
The representatives of the diplomatic missions accredited in Chisinau appreciated the will and determination with which the Executive committed to implement the reforms and said they would continue to support the qualitative changes. In this context, the EU Ambassador in our country, Peter Michalko, highlighted the need to strengthen the government – civil society partnership.
The ambassadors were interested into topical issues such as the elaboration of the second Kroll report, procedure for establishing the list of uninominal constituencies, cooperation with the President of Moldova and criteria for appointment of the new ambassadors of Moldova. At his turn, Pavel Filip mentioned that diplomats would be named strictly on the basis of professionalism and experience, while with the President of Moldova trying to have a strictly institutional cooperation, as far as possible.
