Moldovan premier chairs meeting of Commission for Emergency Situations

Chisinau, 3 November /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip today chaired a meeting of the Commission for Emergency Situations. The participants in the event considered aspects on earmarking money to remove the consequences of natural calamities and actions needed for a good preparation for the cold season.
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the prime minister stressed the importance of preventing the crisis situations triggered by the bad weather. In this respect, the PM demanded maximum mobilization on behalf of competent authorities. Thus, the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry is to ensure a good work of the medical institutions on the cold period and people’s access to the emergency medicine; the Interior Ministry is to prepare the necessary equipment for the rehabilitation points. At the same time, the prime minister demanded that the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry prepares needed technology for cleansing roads and ensure the capacity of intervention of electric energy providers in bad weather conditions.
The prime minister highlighted the importance of a good communication and cooperation between the central and local public authorities: “Together, we represent the public administration in this state and we must take care and provide the citizens with the necessary comfort, no matter the weather from outdoors,” Pavel Filip stressed.
At the prime minister, the PM also instructed allocation of financial means worth 3.17 million lei to restore the roof of a kindergarten in the Parlita village, hit by heavy rainfall from June 2016. As much as 472.4 thousand lei will be earmarked to repair the roof of a sports school from the northern Drochia town, spoiled in the wake of the bad weather from 2017. At the same time, the Commission approved the allocation of 2.32 million lei for the repair of culture institutions, hit by heavy snowfall from last April.
