Bridge across Dniester river to be reopened on 20 November

Chisinau, 3 November /MOLDPRES/ – The bridge over the Dniester river by localities Gura – Bicului and Bicoc will be reopened on 20 November 2017. A decision on it was signed by the political representatives from Chisinau and Tiraspol today, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
By agreement, the parties will request financial support from international partners in the Transnistrian settlement process format for repair, restoration of the operating parameters and improvement of bridge road infrastructure.
The parties also agreed that the bridge of Gura – Bicului would not be used for military purposes and confirmed that they would refrain from any such actions.
The re – circulation of the bridge over which passes international road M14 will offer the possibility to relaunch the free movement of persons, means of transport and goods on both sides of the Dniester. Similarly, the measure will facilitate the activity of economic agents and stimulate the investment environment development.
The bridge between villages Gura – Bicului and Bicoc is an international route that was destroyed in 1992. Then, it was rebuilt from European funds, but so far it has not been put into operation because of political disputes between Chisinau and Tiraspol.
