Chisinau, 6 November /MOLDPRES/- Former director of Gas Natural Fenosa company Silvia Radu and municipal councilor of the European People’s Party of Moldova Ruslan Codreanu were appointed as deputy mayors of Chisinau. Acting mayor of Chisinau Nistor Grozavu made the statement today.
At the same time, the official noted he is withdrawing from the acting mayor. “I accepted the interim because of a crisis situation with the thought that it will be for a short period of time. I do not want to take up this position because I have no support at the Chisinau municipal council. I only accepted it to unblock the activity of the city hall. Currently, a full team is needed, but after talking to the factions, I understand there is no political will”, Grozavu said.
He noted that under the legislation, if CMC twice does not vote or excludes from the agenda the issue of appointment, the mayor may appoint deputy mayors. “I am telling you that Silvia Radu and Ruslan Codreanu are officially appointed to these positions. I signed two provisions this morning. Today is the last session of the city hall that I will moderate, the following being chaired by Silvia Radu”, he said.
Topics on the appointment of deputy mayors of the capital have previously been repeatedly excluded from the agenda of the CMC meeting. Earlier, the mayor of the capital temporarily suspended from office, Dorin Chirtoaca, has proposed the head of the Chisinau health directorate Mihai Moldovanu and former Minister of Environment Valeriu Munteanu to the positions of deputy mayors.
