Moldovan commercial bank, centre for university information launch new issue of scholarships programme

Chisinau, 7 November /MOLDPRES/ - The commercial bank Moldova Agroindbank (MAIB) and the University Information Centre (CIU) launch a programme titled, Scholarships for Your Future!, the 2017 issue. The scholarships will be provided to young people coming from socially vulnerable families of Moldova, in order to facilitate their access to education in Moldovan higher education institutions, according to a press release issued by MAIB.
Thirty scholarships worth 7,000 lei each will be offered for one academic year. The scholarships will be transferred to banking cards of students. Thus, 15 scholarships will be provided to students admitted to the first academic year in higher education institutions from Moldova and 15 – to scholarship students of the previous issue, promoted to the second or third academic years, which can put up their candidacies for their renewal.
To get financial assistance within the programme, young people should prove academic performances and get involved in extra-curricular activities.
“The programme, Scholarships for Your Future, was launched in order to provide support to young people from families with modest incomes, so that they continue their education and have a profession. We are aware that young people represent an important resource of Moldova and investing in them, we invest in the country’s prosperous future,” the chairman of the Moldova Agroindbank Management Board, Serghei Cebotari, said.
The scholarships are provided based on a contest and will be used to pay the education fee, cover the spending for accommodation, food, education supplies.
The programme, Scholarships for Your Future!, the 2017 issue, is organized by the University Information Centre, with the financial support of Moldova Agroindbank, in partnership with the Education, Culture and Research Ministry and Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry.
Starting from 2011, Moldova Agroindbank has been financially backing the project, Additional Scholarships for Young People from Disadvantaged Families, which in 2014 was renamed Scholarships for Your Future, and MAIB assumed responsibility for the programme’s implementation.
