Personal exhibition of Moldovan painter inaugurated at government

Chisinau, 7 November /MOLDPRES/ – A personal painting exhibition titled "Transparente" (Transparencies) by plastic artist Mihai Tarus was varnished at the Government House today.
The inauguration of the exhibition was attended by Prime Minister Pavel Filip, Minister of Education, Culture and Research, Monica Babuc, members of the Executive, artists and writers.
In his speech, Prime Minister Pavel Filip mentioned that exhibition has aimed to promote our national art, given that several Foreign Delegations come to the Government House. "We want Moldova to be known not only from outside but also from inside. Even today the exhibition was seen by the IMF representative, Latvian Foreign Minister and other officials," said Prime Minister Pavel Filip.
In this context, the Minister of Education, Culture and Research, Monica Babuc said that today exhibition has upgraded and changed the appearance of the Government corridor, mentioning that Mihai Tarus being a reference painter whith a modern vision in his creation.
The author of the exhibition, Mihai Tarus, said that those 21 works were selected together with the director of the National Art Museum of Moldova (MNAM), Tudor Zbarnea. "Through this generic – "Transparencies" – I wanted to show that artists paint not objects, but inner states," said Mihai Tarus. Director of the MNAM, Tudor Zbarnea, remarked Mihai Tarus being an artist who has represented our art at a very high aesthetic level.
Mihai Tarus was born on 10 December 1948, in Sinesti village, Ungheni district. He finished school of Fine Arts "A. Plamadeala" in Chisinau and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Sankt – Petersburg. The first personal exhibition he opened at the House of Scholars in the city upon the Neva river. He exhibited with distinguished Russian painters at Gallery "Tretiakov" and presented his works – at the Sterligov Artists Group in Russia – in New York. The galleries from Finland, Belgium, Italy and France also hosted his works. For originality in creation, Mihai Tarus won the Gold Medal at the Cannes Art Salon, France in 2009 and Silver Medal of the Academy of Painting of the Russian Federation in 2007.
