Chisinau, 9 November /MOLDPRES/- On an official visit to Israel, Prime Minister Pavel Filip today met Israeli Premier Benjamin Netanyahu. The officials exchanged views on the current stage of bilateral relations and the prospects for their further development, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
“The bilateral dialogue is very good, but we have a great potential. In this respect, it is important to organize in the near future a meeting of the joint intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation”, Filip said. The initiative was backed by Benjamin Netanyahu, who, for his part, noted that the economy is developing through strong connections. The liberalization of airspace and operation of low cost flights between Moldova and Israel has a special significance. This will favor the trade and flows of tourists from our countries, the premiers said.
At the same time, Filip invited Israeli businessmen to invest in Moldova and participate in the privatization program launched by the authorities. “We want investment from Israel. We have done much to make Moldova more attractive to investors: from regulatory reform to the decriminalization of business environment”, he said.
Filip also referred to the importance of signing a social protection agreement for Moldovan migrants working in Israel. At present, such an agreement exists between the sides in construction, but the country wants to extend it to several sectors.
Benjamin Netanyahu supported the development of the Moldovan-Israeli partnership and implementation of concrete projects in areas of common interest.
The premiers also agreed to promote direct contacts and political dialogue at all levels, especially, between governments and parliaments of the two countries. In the context, Filip invited his counterpart to visit Moldova.
Also, the sides expressed interest in strengthening cultural and inter-human relations, through the exchange of experience between educational institutions, activation of diaspora and stimulation of mutual tourism.
