Moldovan PM visits World Holocaust Remembrance Centre „Yad Vashem”

Chisinau, 10 November /MOLDPRES/- On an official visit to Israel, Prime Minister Pavel Filip visited the World Holocaust Remembrance Centre „Yad Vashem” in Jerusalem.
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the premier visited the Holocaust History Museum of the centre and laid flowers in the memorial hall, in homage to those who suffered from this tragedy.
Also, Filip left an inscription in the museum’s book. The message brings homage to the victims of Holocaust, stating that the nations have to live in peace, so that such tragic events do not happen again.
“Memorial keeps in our memory, today’s and tomorrow’s generations, hard trials and horrors the Jewish people passed through. I am confident that we all have learned well the lesson of history,” the message reads.
The “Yad Vashem” centre was set up by the Israeli authorities in 1953 to commemorate the victims of Holocaust and collect facts about one of the darkest chapters in the history of mankind.
The museum exhibits objects, relics, a photo gallery, left by Holocaust victims. Also, “Everybody has a name” can be found here, which comprises personal data of the over six million Holocaust victims, one million and half of whom are children.
