Moldova likely to sign bilateral agreement on military cooperation with Israel

Chisinau, 10 November /MOLDPRES/- On an official visit to Israel, Prime Minister Pavel Filip today met Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The premier reiterated Moldova’s interest in increasing the partnership between the defense ministries of the two states. Also, Filip said that the country is willing to sign a bilateral cooperation agreement in technical-military field aimed at defense policy and defense planning, military training and technical and material assistance.
For his part, the Israeli official welcomed the interest shown by the Moldovan authorities in the development of bilateral relations, including in the defense sector. At the same time, the official said he is proud he was born in Moldova and studied in Chisinau.
The officials also exchanged views on the importance of making joint efforts in combating terrorism, reducing illegal migration and trafficking in human beings, and reducing illegal drug trafficking.
At the end of the meeting, Filip offered to Liberman his family tree, rooted in Orhei.
