Chisinau, 14 December /MOLDPRES/ – The children and grandchildren are urged to invite their parents and their grandparents to the theatre commencing 14 December 2017 until 15 January 2018. Project: Come with grandparents to the theater was launched today in Chisinau by Social Programme 60 Plus in partnership with National Theater Mihai Eminescu. Thus, for one month, for each ticket bought at the above-mentioned theatre performances, visitors will receive one free of charge when presenting a retired person’s card to one of the parents or parents who are over 60 years old.

At a press conference, Director of Social Programme 60 Plus, Anastasia Primov, said that campaign has been part of a larger project, aimed at three generations –grandparents, parents and grandchildren, which aims to encourage people over the age of 60 to capitalize on their experience and knowledge to lead an active lifestyle.

According to the cited source, the 60plus.md online platform was also launched within the programme. The site contains photo and video projects, articles, interviews, reports and analyzes on various topics of interest to both the elderly and grandchildren and their children. At the same time, employers are urged to send job offers to people over 60, who will be placed on the site. NGOs are also urged to send volunteer bids for that age category.

"We have over 615,000 persons in Moldova who have passed the age of 60 and we have to give them help in communication and involvement in various activities," said Anastasia Primov.

Interviewed by the agency, Petru Hadarca, general manager of National Theatre Mihai Eminescu, said that this project is welcome and can be quite efficient. "We do not lack spectators. But this project is salutary, because through it there will be intergenerational communication. We have good performances that we propose for them: "Unnamed Star" by Mihail Sebastian, "Swan Song for Grandparents" by Dumitru Matcovschi, "Casa Mare" by Ion Druta and others. I hope it will be a good experience for all," said Petru Hadarca.

At her turn, university lecturer Tamara Berzoi, a former journalist at the National Radio, emphasized that Social Programme 60 Plus has been an extraordinary project. "I have many friends who were outside of any activity. Here you mobilize and forget about the age which you have got," said Tamara Berzoi.

The expenditure on 400 free tickets is covered by a pharmaceutical company. Social Programme 60 Plus is implemented by the financial support of the US State Department.
