Poverty remains Moldovans' main concern - opinion poll

Chisinau, 14 December /MOLDPRES/ - The poverty, prices and future are the main reasons for concern for most Moldovans, according to data of the Public Opinion Barometer (BOP), presented by the Public Policies Institute today.
The opinion poll shows that almost a half of the respondents are discontented with the way they live and only 21 per cent said they lead a decent living.
According to BOP, the aspects arousing the greatest discontent among the Moldovans are the political life (57.9 per cent), money quantity (84 per cent), medical assistance, transport and services.
The poll’s data shows that almost a half of the respondents said their earnings were enough just for the indispensable things and only 18 per cent said they lead a wealthy living. About 78 per cent of the polled people said that had no money to make any investments.
The opinion poll was conducted on 18 November - 5 December, on a sample of 1,113 people from 82 settlements, with an error margin of 2.8 per cent. The poll was held with the support of the Soros Moldova Foundation.
