PM meets head of European top bank's representative office in Moldova

Chisinau, 14 December /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip today had a meeting with the head of the representative office of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in Moldova, Dmitri Gvindadze, who ends his mandate in the country.
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the prime minister thanked the European official for EBRD’s support to implement programmes on Moldova’s modernization and, in particular, for his personal involvement in the promotion of European standards in Moldova’s economy and backing the private sector.
The officials exchanged opinions on the impact of the reforms promoted by the government on the country’s economic development and fighting corruption. In this respect, the sides discussed the draft law on the limiting of law enforcement institutions’ abuses against economic agents.
Dmitri Gvindadze said that EBRD remained a reliable partner of Moldova. He appreciated the government’s efforts for strengthening the banking sector and creating friendly conditions for the development of the business environment. In particular, the European official appreciated the work of the Economic Council under the Prime Minister, highlighting the efficiency of this platform in ensuring a permanent dialogue with the Moldovan business environment.
