Chisinau, 15 December /MOLDPRES/- MP Aliona Babiuc, being on the list of the Party of Communists, announced she would work outside the PCRM faction, and criticized the party leadership.
The MP mandate of Babiuc was validated on 13 December by the Constitutional Court. She was to take over the vacant position after Oxana Domenti left.
Babiuc today criticized the activity of PCRM lawmakers, saying that they turned the faction into a simple political group. She said she had received mandate in accordance with voters’ decision and said she would act in the country’s interest.
The leader of the PCRM faction, Ina Supac, said that following the decision of the PCRM political executive committee, the parliamentary faction remains composed of six members.
Earlier this week, the central committee of the PCRM issued a press release against the inclusion of Aliona Babiuc as part of its faction in parliament. According to the PCRM leadership, Babiuc was excluded from the party for several irregularities.
Babiuc is 48 years old and is a teacher.
