Moldovan parliament ratifies agreements on EU's macro-financial assistance

Chisinau, 15 December /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament today ratified the agreements on loan and grant between Moldova and the European Union on macro-financial assistance for Moldova and a memorandum of understanding as an integrant part of this document.
The programme of macro-financial assistance provides for an allocation of 100 million euros, of which 60 million euros is to be provided as loan and 40 million euros – as grant.
The disbursements will be made in 2018, in three equal installments, depending on the progress recorded in the implementation of 28 conditions put by EU. The conditions relate to the public governance, fighting corruption, reforms in the energy sector, governance in the financial sector, business environment.
The loan will be provided for 15 years at the most and the interest rate applied for each installment will depend on the cost the European Commission is to make loans on the international financial market.
The agreement on loan and the memorandum of understanding were signed in Brussels on 23 November 2017.
