Chisinau, 16 December /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament approved the cut in the number of deputy prime ministers at a plenary meeting on 15 December. The revision of the cabinet’s structure takes place in the context of the government’s reform, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
At a request by the prime minister, two deputy prime ministers are to be cabinet members, and the sectors within their competence are to be ascribed subsequently. To facilitate the decision-making process, aimed at fulfilling the priorities of Moldova’s European integration and reintegration, the capacity of deputy prime ministers for the economics and infrastructure minister and foreign affairs and European integration minister were excluded.
The parliament approved a new law on government in last July. As a result of the cabinet’s reorganization, the number of ministries was reduced from 16 to 9. The concerned rationalization had at its basis priorities of social and economic development and the commitments coming from the European integration process.
