Moldovan prime minister meets with Interpol Secretary General

Chisinau, 18 December /MOLDPRES/ – International cooperation against transnational crime was the subject of talks between Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, and INTERPOL Secretary General, Jürgen Stock, who pays a visit to Moldova.
According to an INTERPOL communiqué, the two officials discussed the spheres of current cooperation as to enhance the capacity of law enforcement agencies to identify, investigate and address the security threats facing Moldova and the region.
"Moldova should be congratulated for its commitment to law enforcement cooperation and to working with its counterparts globally through the Interpol network to make the digital world safer," said Secretary Stock.
"My discussions with Prime Minister Filip and other high-ranking officials have highlighted our common vision for a general and global response to transnational organized crime and terrorism. To this end, optimizing the use of secure networks both at regional and international level is very important," added Jürgen Stock.
During his visit to Moldova, Secretary General Jürgen Stock, also met with Speaker of the Parliament, Andrian Candu, Interior Minister, Alexandru Jizdan, Chief of Police General Inspectorate, Alexandru Panzari, and others. At the same time, the European official participated in the festive event organized on the occasion of the Police Day in Moldova.
