Chisinau, 19 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) will propose seven new cabinet members. PDM leader Vlad Plahotniuc made statements to this effect at a news briefing today. He noted that a technocratic government would give an impetus to Moldova’s European integration.
The Democrats’ leader thanked the current ministers for the work carried out, stressing that the new team of the government would be made up of technocrats.
“We have found out important progress and positive reactions of people to the government’s activity and I want to congratulate, on behalf of PDM, Prime Minister Pavel Filip for the professionalism proved. I want to congratulate all cabinet members for their work so far; important efforts have been made, noticed by citizens and the development partners. Presently, the government reached a reliability four-fold higher in citizens’ perceptions against January 2016 and this is an important index, yet, not sufficient for the real potential we have as governance. We make changes, as we want more and more is necessary,” Plahotniuc said.
According to the PDM leader, Iurie Leanca will be nominated for the position of deputy prime minister for European integration and Cristina Lesnic will hold the office of deputy prime minister for reintegration.
“Chiril Gaburici is to hold the post of minister at the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry and the present director of the National Blood Transfusion Centre, Svetlana Cebotari, will come to the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry. The rector of the Agrarian State University of Moldova, Liviu Volconovici, will manage the sector of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment. A young diplomat, Tudor Ulianovschi, is our proposal for the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry. The last on the list of changes, but maybe among the first ones in terms of importance, is the Justice Ministry. The nomination for the office of justice minister is Alexandru Tanase,” Plahotniuc added.
The PDM leader specified that, in next spring, decision-makers will make a new assessment of the way the government manages to adapt its working agenda to the citizens’ needs and new decisions will be taken, depending on the results recorded.
