Moldovan prime minister discusses with Ambassadors, development partners upon priorities of 2018

Chisinau, 19 December /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, met with the Ambassadors of the EU Member States, the USA and Turkey accredited in Chisinau, as well as representatives of the development partners today. The parties exchanged views on progress made in 2017 on implementation of reforms and discussed priorities for 2018, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
In this context, Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, mentioned that the reshuffle in the Cabinet of Ministers aims at depoliticizing the Government, so that during 2018, which is an electoral one, the process of implementation of the reforms not to fall out of intensity. "After the structural reform, an objective and transparent competition for the selection of state secretaries, next stage has taken place today – the depoliticisation of the Government. I do not want the Executive to be blocked by electoral run, but I want government institutions to be directly focused on the implementation of the reforms ", said Pavel Filip.
The ambassadors accredited in Chisinau and development partners wished the government to succeed in its new composition, encouraging it to remain focused on implementing the reform agenda and fulfilling all the commitments made to development partners. Also, the officials expressed their readiness to provide further assistance within process, in form of expertise and financial support.
Referring to perspective plans, Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, specified priorities for 2018 remaining the European integration and reintegration of Moldova. Speaking about the Transnistrian settlement process, the Prime Minister said that executive would be proactive in upcoming period. "We will come up with many proposals and initiatives so that we will at least eliminate the problems in the first basket and provide the necessary comfort for the citizens of the region," said Pavel Filip.
At the end of the meeting, the Prime Minister thanked Ambassadors and development partners for continued support offered to Moldova, noting that it has needed support in order to continue reforms.
