Moldovan, Turkish officials broach economic cooperation

Chisinau, 20 December /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Pavel Filip held a meeting with Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Hakan Çavuşoğlu in Chisinau in the context of participation in the 9th session of the Moldovan-Turkish intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The officials exchanged views on the bilateral political dialogue, social and economic developments and prospects for expanding areas of cooperation.
“Relations between states are built on human relationship, and our good relations are due to the people who develop and maintain them”, Filip said. In the context, the premier appreciated the successful implementation of the Free Trade Agreement between the two countries, which came into force on 1 November 2016. The officials noted that the document created favorable conditions for removal of barriers to trade.
Also, the sides pointed out that the sessions of the Moldovan-Turkish intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation show once again many common interests and resources for getting closer and diversifying bilateral relations.
The officials also discussed the projects Turkey is implementing in Gagauzia and possibility to extend them throughout the country.
At the end of the meeting, Hakan Çavuşoğlu invited Filip to pay an official visit to Turkey.
