First IT Park to be created in Moldova

Chisinau, 20 December /MOLDPRES/- The cabinet today approved the creation of the first information technology park “Moldova IT Park”. It will start starting from 1 January 2018. IT Park is founded for 10 years, during which it is planned to attract about 400 IT companies.

According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the new structure aims to ensure an organizational platform with a set of innovative mechanisms and facilities to boost the growth of the information technology industry, create new jobs and attract local and foreign investment.

The IT park will be a virtual one, with the possibility to create a physical infrastructure. The administrator is appointed by the government for a period of 5 years, and the administration has the status of a legal person and operates on principles of self-financing.

Also, the government approved the Regulation on organization and operation of the park administration and Regulation on registration of its residents.
