Moldovan government approves Food Safety Strategy

Chisinau, 20 December /MOLDPRES/- The cabinet approved today Food Safety Strategy for 2018-2022. The document aims at achieving a high level of food safety and consumer protection, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
In this context, the authorities are committed to come up with an integrated approach covering all sectors and stages of the food chain: from feed production and animal and plant health to raising standards for primary production and food processing, as well as storage, transport and marketing of food.
Also, the “e-ANSA” will be implemented, which will ensure an operative and secure exchange of data between authorities in electronic format. Thus, a unique platform for rapid and effective emergency action will be set up.
Implementation of the strategy will ensure a high degree of protection of public health and interests of consumers. Also, the achievement of goals will favor exports of food and live animals from Moldova to the EU and CIS countries.
