More employees of Chisinau-based medical institution suspended from office

Chisinau, 04 January /MOLDPRES/ – Several employees of the Mother and Child Institute were suspended from office after a patient accused them of negligence and said she aborted alone in the hospital toilet. The case is also investigated by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Social Protection (MSMPS), which initiated an investigation.

According to the administration of the Mother and Child Institute, in this case a job investigation was initiated and the persons involved were suspended from office during the investigation.

According to the cited source, all those who have admitted violations of medical ethics and deontology and there will be sanctioned subdivision’s activity regulation and will be taken all appropriate measures.

The administration of the Institute came up with a number of clarifications referring to the medical part of the case and claims that the patient was hospitalized on 09 December 2017. Here she was clinically investigated and on 11 December, following discussions at the medical council it was advised drug discontinuation of pregnancy.

On the same day, the pregnancy interruption was initiated according to the protocol. On 14 December, the medical abortion was caused. The patient was discharged the next day with the doctor’s advice and under the supervision of the family doctor.

A young woman in Moldovan capital recently accused Doctors of the Mother and Child Institute of negligence in the office and claimed that although her birth was induced medical, she was allowed to abort alone in the institution, being ignored by doctors and nurses.
