Chisinau, 04 January /MOLDPRES/ – Year 2017 was remarkable in the relationship of Moldova with the European partners. A year in which we regained the confidence of the European institutions in the reforms promoted by the Government, and this was seen at the Association Council in March. The statement was made by the head of the Executive, Pavel Filip, in an exclusive interview for the Agency.
According to the cited source, the Moldova-EU Association Agenda for 2017 – 2019 was approved in 2017. "Together with the European institutions, the Government developed a plan that will allow the process of European integration to be stepped up and the more rapid transfer of the approach to Europe towards the citizens. We also signed the €100 million macro-financial assistance package. In addition, it is important that the EU gives confidence to foreign investors, who have every reason to come to Moldova," said Filip.
He added that as early as 2017, the EU approved Moldova’s direct budget support of €36.3 million for five evaluated programmes. "The Eastern Partnership Summit recognized the European aspirations of Moldova and gave encouraging signals on several important issues for Moldova, such as: integration in European transport corridors, the TEN-T network, reduction of roaming tariffs and security energy sector of Moldova", said the Premier.
