Chisinau, 5 January /MOLDPRES/- President Igor Dodon today criticized the Constitutional Court’s note, which set that the president’s refusal to promulgate the law amending the Audiovisual Code is a reason to establish interim office.
The official noted “the anti-propaganda law represents an abuse of the freedom of information of the Moldovan citizens”.
“It is a censorship based on double standards. Why ignore the media that openly promotes the liquidation of statehood of Moldova? Referring to informing citizens, there are many possibilities for them to have access to politically censored news”, Dodon said.
The president has repeatedly rejected the promulgation of the law amending the Audiovisual Code, which proposed a mechanism for ensuring information security. Subsequently, several MPs notified the CCM to determine how the blocking can be solved.
At the same time, Dodon announced he notified the court on verifying the same law in terms of constitutionality.
