Newly elected head of Superior Council of Prosecutors

Chisinau, 10 January /MOLDPRES/- Prosecutor Angela Motuzoc was elected today as head of the Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP).
According to the head of the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office, Maria Vieru, the CSP head was elected by secret ballot, by majority vote. “Candidates for this position were two members of the CSP – Angela Motuzoc and Adrian Bordianu”, Vieru said.
The CSP head’s mandate is 4 years.
Angela Motuzoc has served as deputy chief prosecutor of Chisinau Prosecutor’s Office. She graduated from the faculty of law of the Free International University. She started work in the Prosecutor’s Office in 2000.
The Superior Council of Prosecutors is an independent body with legal status, formed to participate in setting up, operating and ensuring self-administration of prosecution. The council is made up of 12 members.
