Global Environmental Facility Programme provides grants to civil society in Moldova

Chisinau, 13 January /MOLDPRES/ – The Small Grants Programme of the Global Environment Facility invited non – governmental organisations (NGOs) and civil society to submit relevant projects for financial assistance.

The maximum amount for an allocated grant consists $50,000, which will be offered to organizations from Moldova as to enable them to cope with the global environmental challenges and address the needs for sustainable development. The deadline for submitting projects is 30 June 2018.

The Global Grants Environment Facility (GGEF) of Global Grants Programme (GGP) invites NGOs and civil society organisations to submit project proposals in the areas of programme’s interest: conservation of terrestrial landscape at community level; smart climate – friendly innovative agroecology; co – benefits of access to low – carbon energy system; local and global chemicals management coalitions; platforms for political and planning dialogue between the OSC and the Government; promoting social inclusion, etc.

The Small Grants Programme of the Global Environmental Facility provides grants to NGOs and community organizations CSOs) in developing countries to enable them to cope with global environmental challenges while addressing the needs of sustainable development. The SGP motto is: Community action with global impact!.

The GEF SGP operates in 126 countries. The SGP Moldova started financing projects in 2013. Since then, it has been successful in funding and providing technical support for over 12 projects supported throughout grants. The SGP is a corporate GEF programme implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
