Moldovan PM says greatest success of Christmas Fair children's smiles

Chisinau, 16 January /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister, at a summing-up meeting, has thanked all those who got involved in the good carrying out of the Christmas Fair, among whom employees of the Moldova-Concert state enterprise, artists, bands of amateurs, popular craftsmen, policemen, physicians, economic agents, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

“Children were delighted when visiting the Christmas Fair. I spoke to some of them and they told me that they felt very good in this atmosphere of tale. The greatest success of the Christmas Fair represents the smiles on children’s faces,” Pavel Filip said.   

More than 5,000 disadvantaged children from all Moldovan districts, including the Transnistrian region, visited the Christmas Fair with the government’s support.  

The proposals and recommendations by the participants in the Fair will be totalized and taken into account when organizing the next issues. The wood houses used at the event will be stocked and preserved properly, so that they can be used on other occasions as well. After all works of cleaning the zone are completed, the street will be de-blocked for the road traffic. At the same time, possibility of creating a pedestrian street in this place in the long run is to be studied.      

The Fair aroused also international interest, as guests from Romania, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Poland, Germany and China visited it. The Christmas Fair, organized by the Moldovan government for the first time ever on 15 December 2017 – 14 January 2018, recorded more than one million visits.
