Diplomat's Day marked in Moldova

Chisinau, 17 January /MOLDPRES/ - The diplomats mark their professional holiday on 17 January. On this occasion, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi offered sincere congratulations to the employees of the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE). The Moldovan diplomacy head wished them health, confidence in a better future, constant devotion and dedication, professional and personal achievements, the MAEIE public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has reported.
In his speech, Minister Ulianovschi noted that the basic goal of MAEIE’s work in 2018 would be the public diplomacy and quality services for each citizen of Moldova. The protection of the rights, interests of the fellow countrymen, their lives and security stay a major priority for the Moldovan diplomacy. “I will personally militate in favour of providing quality services, so that any citizen, no matter where he/she is, quickly notices the scope, diversity and promptitude of our country’s consular services,” Tudor Ulianovschi said.
At the same time, the Moldovan diplomacy head also said that “another major objective is the development of the economic diplomacy, which is to provide concrete results according to the model of states which were able to turn to good account the potential of the world trade system, reviving our country’s development policies, in the perspective of the economic convergence and European integration. We need concrete actions to modernize the country and facilitate the commercial exchanges between Moldova and the foreign partners.”
Also, the Moldovan minister evoked that, among the priorities of his mandate, there were the strengthening of the perspective of the country’s European integration, strengthening the multilateral and bilateral diplomacy. According to Ulianovschi, “Moldova’s voice should be reiterated and heard whenever necessary bilaterally and internationally.”
In particular, the foreign affairs minister said that an important priority was the development of the digital diplomacy and establishing an open and accessible dialogue with mass media. “Proceeding from the deep and quick computerization of the 21st century, each of us should be aware that the lack of communication on social electronic and traditional platforms runs the risk of becoming equal to inexistence. The presence of the diplomacy in the contemporary media landscape should be pro-active, intense, focused on the target audience, coordinated, with single and consolidated messages,” Tudor Ulianovschi said.
At the ceremony, Minister Ulianovschi handed diplomas of gratitude to veterans of the Moldovan diplomatic system.
