Strategy in food safety sector for 2018-2022 to be published in Moldova's Official Journal

Chisinau, 18 January /MOLDPRES/ - The strategy in the food safety sector for 2018-2022 will be published in the 19 January issue of Moldova’s Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial). The document’s goal is to ensure the safety of food products and consumers’ protection.
The strategy’s implementation will ensure a high degree of protection of the public health and consumers’ interests. The strategy includes all sectors and stages of the food chain: beginning with the production of fodder and ensuring the health of plants and animals and ending with the enhancing the standards for the primary production and processing of foodstuffs, as well as the stocking, carriage and sale of food products.
At the same time, an integrated information system, e-ANSA, will be implemented, which will provide an operative and safe exchange of data between authorities in electronic format. In this way, a single platform will be established for quick and efficient acting in emergency situations.
Also, the current document will favour the exports of food products and living animals from Moldova to the European Union and the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
