More flights cancelled or delayed because of bad weather in Moldova

Chisinau, 18 January /MOLDPRES/ - More flights have been cancelled or delayed at the Chisinau International Airport because of the heavy snowfall today.
The Airport’s information service told MOLDPRES that delays in arrivals and departures were recorded because of the bad weather.
According to data, there are delays in the take-off of an aircraft bound for Bucharest and another one for Moscow. At the same time, one flight to Bucharest and another one to Berlin were cancelled.
Also, there are delays at the landing of airships from Moscow, Tel Aviv and Brussels. The landing of an aircraft from Bucharest and of another one from Berlin was repealed.
Institution’s representatives noted that the air traffic was carried in winter conditions at the Chisinau International Airport, with heavy snowfall and wind gusting. Also, the possibility of cancellation of other flights deals strictly with regulations of air companies as to the run in bad weather.
At the same time, there are constant interventions with specialized equipment, in order to provide optimum conditions for safely carrying out flights at the Airport.
The State Hydrometeorological Service has informed about Orange Code of snowfall and sleet almost all over Moldova for today.
