Citizens from over 30 countries of South, Central America, Asia to be able to travel to Moldova free visa

Chisinau, 18 January /MOLDPRES/ - The government decision on the approval of a draft law on the amendment and completion of the Law No 257 from 1 November 2013 on nationals of third countries, who are obliged to hold visas when crossing the state border of Moldova, will be published in the 19 January issue of Moldova’s Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial).
The decision was approved at a 17 January cabinet meeting and provides for the removal of the obligation to hold visas when crossing Moldova’s state border for the citizens of 33 states from Southern America, Central America, Asia. These countries presently have a liberalized visa regime with the European Union.
Under the document, the abolition of visas will facilitate interaction between business people and will create prerequisites for increasing the export of goods, as well as to turn to good account the tourism and cultural potential of Moldova.
Seven countries out of the 33 ones have earlier unilaterally lifted the compulsoriness for the Moldovan citizens to hold entry visas. The document will be submitted to parliament for consideration.
