Chisinau, 18 January /MOLDPRES/ - Six border checkpoints placed in southern Moldova have ceased working because of the snowfall and wind gusting, especially on the Ukrainian side.
According to data by the Border Police, the traffic was ceased at the customs checkpoints Basarabeasca–Vinogradovka, Cișmichioi–Dolinscoe, Ceadâr-Lunga–Maloyaroslavets, Ceadâr-Lunga–Noviye-Traiani, Mirnoe–Tabaki, Etulia–Nagornoe.
Data shows that, because of the heavy snow on the Leuseni-Chisinau highway, movement restriction for high-tonnage vehicles is imposed till the road is cleaned.
Limiting of movement is signaled also through the wharf-type customs checkpoint Molovata, where the ferry, which connects the settlements Molovata Veche and Molovata Noua, stopped working because of the strong wind.
Authorities recommend that the passengers who planned to cross the state border through the aforementioned checkpoints postpone their trips and opt for other checkpoints placed nearby.
