Moldova to receive grants worth over 15 million euros on behalf of Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria

Chisinau, 19 January /MOLDPRES/ - The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria will provide Moldova with two grants worth 15.8 million euros to reduce the incidence with TB and AIDS.
According to data by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry, the money is provided for a three-year period and will be used for financing activities included in national programmes on prophylaxis and control of tuberculosis and HIV-AIDS infection for 2016-2020, as well as for providing services of care of persons hit by these diseases.
The financial assistance is provided through the public institution, Unit of Coordination, Implementation and Monitoring of Projects in Health Sector and the Centre for Policies and Analyses. As much as 7.1 million euros is provided for the control of HIV/AIDS and 8.7 million euros – for the control of tuberculosis.
Starting from 2003, the Global Fund has provided Moldova about 115 million dollars to back national programmes on the prevention and control of Tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS.
