Moldovan diplomacy head meets Chinese ambassador

Chisinau, 19 January /MOLDPRES/ - Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi today received Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Moldova Zhang Yinghong, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has reported.   

The officials approached diverse aspects of the bilateral cooperation and expressed interest in a fresh impetus to the promotion of the political dialogue, trade, economic and cultural cooperation. As for the economic opportunities, the sides welcomed the signing, in late 2017, of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry of Moldova and Commerce Ministry of China on starting negotiations on the free trade agreement between Moldova and China.

Ambassador Zhang Yinghong conveyed to the head of the Moldovan diplomacy a congratulatory message on behalf of his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, on the occasion of the appointment to the office of foreign affairs and European Integration minister, as well as an invitation to visit China.  

At the same time, the Moldovan diplomacy head expressed thanks to the Chinese diplomat for the support provided by China in Moldova’s modernization process.
