Moldovan, European officials broach cooperation

Chisinau, 22 January /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister Iurie Leanca today met Vice-President for the Euro and Social Dialogue Valdis Dombrovskis, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The main issues focused on the EU-Moldova agenda, domestic political situation, economic, financial and banking issues in Moldova.
The official reiterated the Moldovan government’s firm commitment to implement the Association Agreement and carry out the reforms related to the European agenda.
For his part, the European official encouraged the Moldovan authorities to continue implementing the reforms, especially, in terms of the justice reform, fight against corruption and strengthening banking system. He also pointed out the need to investigate the banking fraud.
At the same time, they approached the importance of the evaluation mission of the Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs, planned for early February, to review the level of fulfillment of the conditions set in the first installment of the macro-financial assistance program.
Leanca addressed Dombrovskis the invitation to visit Moldova.
