Petrol, diesel prices continue increasing in Moldova

Chisinau, 23 January /MOLDPRES/ – The prices for most demanded petrol Premium – 95 will increase by MDL 0,25 per litre on 24 January and diesel MDL 0,19, after previous period, it increased by MDL 0,68 per litre, and the price at the diesel fuel pump increased by MDL 0,60. The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) set price of Premium – 95 trading at MDL 18.47 per litre and diesel price MDL 16.51 for 24 January – 06 February 2018.
The new petrol and diesel prices will take effect at midnight and come into force from 24 January – 06 February 2018. The operators will not have the right to retail fuel at prices higher than those ones set by ANRE.
The Brent oil barrel fell to $70 a barrel for the first time since November 2014, then fell slightly and stabilized to $68 – 69, and on 23 January is $69.31 per barrel, $0,28 more than on 22 January 2018. The oil price began to rise after the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) announced that it would continue supply restriction.
OPEC and Russia reaffirmed on 21 January for maintaining oil production cuts by the end of 2018 to balance world market and indicated on being ready to cooperate beyond the agreement, reports Bloomberg. The manufacturers will maintain oil production cuts by the end of 2018, with market rebalancing in 2018 or 2019, said in a press conference Saudi Arabian Energy Minister, Khalid Al – Falih, in Muscat, Oman.
The Brent oil price rose 2.6 per cent in January and benchmark oil on the US market would see solid growth in 2018, according to estimates of the International Energy Agency (IEA). British Petroleum considers current price $69 per barrel as relatively high and forecasts a correction of quotations in the range $55 – 60 per barrel.
The Economic Forecasting Agency (APE) of Russia estimates that in 2018, the oil price will most likely rise up $68 – 73 per barrel in February, reaching a maximum $90 in August to go down $78 a barrel in December, while stakes being made on high levels by big producing states.
