EU commissioner encourages Moldovan cabinet to continues implementing reforms

Chisinau, 24 January /MOLDPRES/ - Topical subjects in the Moldova-European Union bilateral agenda have been discussed by Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Iurie Leanca and European Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy & Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn. The officials reviewed the programmes on budgetary support and macro-financial assistance for Moldova, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Deputy Prime Minister Iurie Leanca appreciated the constant support provided by the European Union. Leanca gave assurances that, in his new position, he would make efforts to ensure an efficient planning and coordination as to the implementation of the commitments taken before the European partners.
Also, the Moldovan official reiterated the need of the political and sectoral dialogue with the European institutions. In this context, Iurie Leanca unveiled the Moldovan government’s priorities as for the achievement of the goals agreed upon at the Eastern Partnership Summit, held in Brussels in late 2017.
For his part, EU Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy & Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn encouraged the cabinet to continue implementing the reforms. He stressed that EU would further back Moldova’s European integration and actions aimed at developing the democracy and rule of law state, for the benefit of the citizens.
