Moldovan deputy premier meets European official

Chisinau, 24 January /MOLDPRES/- During a visit to Brussels, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Iurie Leanca had a meeting with European Commission Vice-President, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Leanca informed about the priorities of his mandate in the European integration and the promotion of the reforms provided by the Association Agreement, focusing on the justice reform, turning to good account the potential of the DCFTA, fulfilling the necessary conditions for receiving the financial assistance.
Mogherini assured that in the EU there is all the determination to continue to support Moldova and at the same time, the European institutions have increased expectations regarding the implementation of the reforms. In particular, the need to record visible progress in combating corruption and investigating bank fraud was mentioned. The EU official noted the importance of observing international recommendations on electoral matters.
Also, the two officials agreed that special attention will be given to strategic communication on the benefits of European integration and strengthening the dialogue between the Moldovan authorities and European institutions.
