Moldovan, European officials broach reforms

Chisinau, 24 January /MOLDPRES/- The latest developments registered by Moldova in implementation of the Association Agreement on food safety and public health were discussed in Brussels at a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Iurie Leanca and European Commissioner for Health and Food Safety Vytenis Andriukaitis, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
In this context, Leanca reiterated Moldova’s commitment to record progress in sanitary and phytosanitary measures, animal health and public health, emphasizing the need for effective coordination between national and European authorities.
Also, Leanca informed that compliance with the requirements for getting the right to export the products of animal origin on the EU market is a priority issue for the authorities of Moldova.
Vytenis Andriukaitis has encouraged progress in implementing the reforms and ensured of EU support in this regard.
