Chisinau, 24 January /MOLDPRES/ – The Cabinet of Ministers approved at its today meeting the complete waste list in the context of transposition of the European Union’s normative acts into chapter: Environment and waste management into national legislation, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The document is a classifier in categories and sub – categories of waste, including hazardous waste, according to codes established in the EU, allowing for subsequently more efficient waste recycling.
The new regulatory framework will facilitate the activity of entrepreneurs, in particular original producers and waste holders, waste recycling units and enterprises, by qualitatively and quantitatively recording them, as well as reporting data according to the legislation. Thus, it will be implemented an integrated waste management system, which will have a beneficial impact on environment and health of population.
In this context, the PM remembered the unpleasant waste management experience in Chisinau and Balti municipalities and asked the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment (MADRM) to prioritize a national view on waste accumulation and processing. "If we go on landfills and so on, then problems that we have in Tantareni will simply multiply all over the country. We are in the 21st century, there are examples from other European countries that we can follow," said Pavel Filip.
