Chisinau, 24 January /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, called on all government institutions to make acquisitions by means of electronic public procurement system – MTender.
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the Prime Minister specified that transition to electronic procurement system is included in the Strategy for Development of Public Procurement System for 2016 – 2020. Platform MTender was implemented and tested in 2017 by the Ministry of Finance (MF), including subordinate institutions (Fiscal, Customs, Public Procurement Agency), proving to be a very efficient one.
Thus, the Premier asked the authorities to support the project and make all purchases through MTender. "I do not think I have to talk once again about the importance of transparency of public finances and proving to everyone that public finances are being spent with much suspicion," said Pavel Filip.
At present, there are 48 state – owned institutions and companies already participating in auctions throughout electronic system. For the time being, the platform covers low – value acquisitions of MDL 80,000 excluding VAT, and in 2018 range of public procurement that can be carried out will be extended to 80 per cent of all types of acquisitions.
