Government takes measures to ensure social security of Moldovan migrant workers from Israel

Chisinau, 24 January /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers today ruled to initiate negotiations on a pilot programme between the governments of Moldova and the State of Israel on the employment of Moldovan citizens as servants of elderly disabled people from Israel.
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the draft’s goal is to observe the rights of the migrant workers and fight the illegal migration. In particular, migrants will benefit from professional trainings and medical examinations on the territory of the State of Israel. The pilot programme sees initially the employment of 300 Moldovan citizens.
At the same time, the government ruled to start talks on a draft administrative arrangement for the implementation of the agreement between Moldova and Israel in the social security sector. Thus, the migrants from the two states will be able to submit application on establishing the pension and other social insurances from the new place of residence.
The concerned decisions result from the agreements reached during a visit to Israel by Prime Minister Pavel Filip.
