Chisinau, 25 January /MOLDPRES/- The action plan for 2018 on integration of foreigners will be published in the Official Journal of Moldova on 26 January.
The document comprises six chapters on strengthening the normative framework in the foreigners’ integration, information and fortification of institutional capacities of the central and local public administration authorities in the communication with foreigners.
Under the plan, the actions are meant to improve the legal framework in the field, to ensure respect for all foreigners’ rights and consolidate the capacities of the institutions providing services for them.
The measures refer to ensuring access to education, including Romanian language courses, the labor market for foreigners, health services and social assistance, as well as promoting cultural diversity.
Also, the functionality of regional integration centres for foreigners will be ensured. Civil society will be more actively involved in the accommodation of foreigners. Implementation of integration activities will be evaluated annually to set next priorities and effectively plan budgetary resources.
According to data in June 2017, almost 19,000 foreigners were entitled to reside in our country, and over 3,000 foreigners were in the Transnistrian region. At the same time, in late September 2017, 477 people were registered in the asylum system.
