Chisinau, 25 January /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip today unveiled a report on the second anniversary of his swearing in office. The official made a synthesis of the work carried out and set the priorities for 2018.
The prime minister reviewed the achievements, including the economic ones, of the government and showed discontent with the activity in some sectors, among which the justice reform and the reformation of the health and education systems.
“Two years ago, somebody tried to discourage us and gave us no chance of unlocking the European financings, of signing the agreement with IMF and economically stabilizing the country. They accused us of being a government sworn in office at night. Presently, things are seen differently; those who attempted to trigger those crises and predict the disaster are in continuation in opposition and the response to their intentions of that time represents the results we have achieved in two years. We have managed to de-block the financings and we are already at the second installment of the IMF’s loan. We have maintained our commitment to be a cabinet which will answer criticisms through results,” Filip said.
The prime minister also referred to the country’s economic development, which is the main goal of the government. “The progress made in the economic field allowed the government backing the agenda of social measures for improving the living standards in Moldova. We know well that our country is still far from the European countries, that we have much to recover. Therefore, the pensions were indexed by ten per cent in 2016 and 2017, the minimum salary has increased in the last two years from 1,900 lei up to 2,380 lei in 2017. Due to such increases, as well as due, in general, to the positive results in the economic sector, the average salary on the economy increased in two years by over 30 per cent from 4,665 lei in 2016 to 6, 150 lei,” Filip added.
Among the priorities set by the prime minister for 2018, there are the reforms in the health sector, modernization of the education, introduction of the vocational school-leaving examinations, with emphasis put on the restoration of roads and energy infrastructure.
The PM gave assurances that the new governmental team would work more in 2018, which is the last year of mandate and an electoral year, and would keep far from politics.
